Shaping the Land

Homestead's Golf Course Transformation

A new era of play is on the horizon.

Over the last 10 months, Homestead has been thoughtfully reimagining and elevating the golf experience. Under the direction of course architect, John Fought, all 18-holes of the championship course will be refreshed to honor the surrounding valley while emphasizing fun and competitive play. When the course re-opens in Summer 2027 as a semi-private course, members and hotel guests will be welcomed by a new golf clubhouse, dedicated practice areas, an 18-hole putting course, and indoor golf simulators.

For those eager to hit the greens, follow along to learn more about the exciting improvements to the course.

Hole 16

  • Enhancements to Hole 16 begin at the teeing area, which will feature four distinct tee box options—creating an elevated golf experience tailored to players of every skill level.
  • A defining characteristic throughout the project is the scale and shaping of the teeing areas. The architect’s thoughtful design expands each tee box to flow naturally with the surrounding terrain, delivering both striking visual appeal and the foundation for a premier turfgrass management program.
  • Along Hole 16, selective brush and tree clearing has opened both sides of the fairway, creating a more generous landing area off the tee while unveiling beautiful views of Snake Creek as it winds the full length of the hole.
  • A newly added fairway bunker on the right side, paired with strategic aiming mounds along the left, enhances both playability and depth perception from the tee—adding character and thoughtful challenge to the hole’s design.
  • The green complex has shifted slightly to the right, with subtle contours that fall away toward Snake Creek. A single greenside bunker on the left provides strategic protection while preserving the natural beauty and flow of the hole.
